During the visit, under the cooperation Memorandum between two countries, the cooperation agreement between the Russian National Dairy Producers Union and the Dairy Association of Slovenia came into force. The purpose of the agreement is to mutually stimulate the development of dairy sector.

The 2nd Congress of Russian milk producers and processors took place in Moscow on March 14. During the meeting SOUZMOLOKO has demonstrated the results of successful cooperation between market participants and the government as well as the benefits of consolidated approach in the industry. The opening speech was delivered by the First Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Viktor Zubkov and the Chairman of the Board of SOUZMOLOKO Andrei Danilenko.

Monitoring of the implementation of technical regulation requirements for milk and dairy products.

In accordance with the Agreement on Cooperation of SOUZMOLOKO and Rospotrebnadzor active interaction between the participants is being carried out, primarily in terms of the requirements of technical regulations for milk and dairy products by all parties represented in the dairy market of Russia.

The first open meeting of the inter-branch advisory council for the development of the consumer market (IAC) was held on December 6, 2010 in the Chamber of Commerce of Russian Federation.

During the first month of work the IAC has received a significant number of proposals and comments from the suppliers, processors and retailers on possible amendments to the Federal Law ¹ 381 "On the base state regulations of commercial activities in the Russian Federation" and the tax laws regulating consumer markets.

SOUZMOLOKO raw milk purchase price forecast for the following 12 months.

According to the Agreement on raw milk market price monitoring dated October 14, 2010, SOUZMOLOKO, based on the analytic results of systematic milk market price monitoring, forecasts that minimum and maximum basic market average annual price for one kilogram of first grade raw cow’s milk with protein and fat content of 3.0% and 3.4% accordingly, shall be not less than 11 rubles and not more than 15 rubles excluding VAT for the suppliers with seasonality coefficient not more than 1.3 for the following 12 months starting on October 1, 2010.

Chairman of the Board of SOUZMOLOKO Andrei Danilenko and SOUZMOLOKO Board member N. Babaev (CJSC “Russian Dairy Company”) have returned from a working visit to Italy.

In the course of their visit SOUZMOLOKO representatives have visited top dairy processing enterprises, including Latbri factory, that is the second largest mozzarella cheese producer in Italy with average processing volume of more than 1000 tons of milk per day (i.e. 100 tons of end product per day).

Essential steps for further development of Russian Dairy Industry

Currently the market prices for both raw milk and dairy products are hardening. But unfortunately firm pricing is only one of many factors that are required in order to induce the growth of dairy production volume and encourage investments in Russian Dairy Industry, which depends on imports so far.

The festival “Dairy country – 2010” took place in the pavilions of All-Russia Exhibition Center on September 11. The festival was organized by the National Dairy Producers Union (SOUZMOLOKO) and the Association of Retail Companies (AKORT), actively supported by the Federal Government and the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation. This festival is a first step of a long-term program on milk and dairy products consumption promotion in Russia.

An extended meeting session of the members of National Dairy Producers Union has been held on October 3 in the framework of agroindustrial fair “Golden Autumn” that took place in the pavilions of All-Russia Exhibition Center. The meeting was attended by 200 Union members and the Union guests.
